The I-League 2022-23 is kicking off on 12th November at Manjeri Payyanad Stadium, Kozhikode in Kerala on Saturday. The inaugural match will be between defending champions Gokulam Kerala and last year’s runners up Mohammedan SC.
The last two editions of this tournament was conducted in West Bengal among the COVID-19 restrictions inside a bio-bubble. Format and teams After two seasons in bio-bubble and COVID-19 restrictions, the league this year will be conducted as per the traditional home and away format. There will be no restrictions of bio-bubble and the teams are free to move around. Total 12 teams from across the country will take part in the 16th edition of the I-League. The teams which are competing in the I-League this year are – Aizawl FC, Churchill Brothers, Gokulam Kerala, Kenkre FC, NEROCA, Mohammedan SC, RoundGlass Punjab, Sreenidi Deccan, Real Kashmir, TRAU and Sudeva Delhi.
